Sixteen-year-old, Skyla Messenger is a dead girl walking.

When her newly remarried mother moves the family to Paragon Island, to a house that is rumored to be haunted, Skyla finds refuge in Logan Oliver, a boy who shares her unique ability to read minds.

Skyla discovers Logan holds the answers to the questions she’s been looking for, but Logan’s reluctance to give her the knowledge she desires leaves her believing Logan has a few secrets of his own.

Skyla’s bloodlines may just be connected to the most powerful angelic beings that roam the earth, and the more she knows, the more danger she seems to be in.

Suddenly an entire faction of earthbound angels wants her dead, at least she still has Logan, or does she?

This story grabs your attention from the beginning and just leaves you wanting more! Very unique story line, well thought out characters and beautifully written. Can't wait to dive into the next book in the series!
  • Oh No.

It was a little over the top in a self congratulatory "look at all these big words" kind of way, but I pushed on...until about page five. You lost me at "prophesying." How many people read this book and said, "yeah, looks great to me!" for that to slip by. Prophesying? No.

  • Eh I liked it but didnt like it ♥💔

I really enjoyed certain parts of this book. I totally like Gage better than Logan. I just didnt really care for Logan's character. All Skyla really did was make out with him most of the time and I feel like their relationship was rushed. Sure he sounded hot and sexy but I didnt fall in love with his personality. He kept secrets and flirted with that other girl. It seemed like Skyla only liked him for his looks cause he didnt really have anything else going on. The plot and story tho were pretty good and interesting but I expected more.... Pizzazz! And there were times when that could if happened but the author didnt give it to me. Hopefully the next book is better.😔

Couldn't put it down. Read the entire thing in one sitting and then purchased every other book in the series. I loved the characters, the fast pace of the book. I got lost in the descriptions of the author. Beautifully writing and completely engrossing. ❤️
  • Don't get sucked in!

I'm generally not the type to leave reviews, however, I feel the need to caution other readers against this series. The first book had me hooked. It was a very unique idea and hey I enjoyed a break from vampires and werewolves. By the third book I started getting angry and frustrated. Put it this way.... I read up to what I thought was the final book on sheer will alone and just the need to complete the damned series I had started! Then I found out it wasn't the last book.... I have no idea if the series is finally done Bc I was sick of waiting for anything to happen. I hated every single one of the characters, especially stupid, selfish, whiny Skyla. I really feel like this series could have been a trilogy. By book four it was reaching and book 5 was worse. Just words of caution Bc the first three books were great and kept me reading but it just got ridiculous. Happy reading and be careful. Oh and a fortnight is two weeks..... That bugged me to no end.....
